Rooibos Scent of Christmas tea

I had previously bought this tea several times several years ago and enjoyed it very much. It had a very distinctive taste that was like Christmas. However, this year's batch is lacking that taste to a large degree--- perhaps not enough cloves? Were corners cut for cost reasons?
